Job Description: Social Media Manager 

The Social Media Manager is responsible for leading the social media strategy, planning and execution for content on corporate social media channels. These channels include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn. The social media manager is also responsible for Identifying and implementing organizational processes that would help to improve content creation and communication, creation of a monthly editorial content calendar and publishing schedule. The social media manager also provides direction on the creation of digital assets including video and photography. The social media manager is also responsible for the creation and publication of a social media analytics report using social analytics tools. This person also serves as a liaison between the Digital Media Team and Communications Team. This position would work exclusively with a Michigan-based automotive OEM.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, New Media or Public Relations. 

  • Must have 7-10 years of proven work experience in the social media field such as digital media communications or PR/Digital Media agency

  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.

  • 7+ years of experience in the preparation and execution of social media/communications strategies and supporting media materials


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational, verbal and written skills. 

  • Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), graphics and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.

  • Self-driven, able to manage multiple projects at once and under deadlines.
